The Big Audition
Okay, since I'm totally wired from the caffeine right now I thought maybe I should do a post. Add that to the fact that I just got back from my audition and I'm feeling a bit of an adrenaline rush from that.So my audition went okay. I was totally nervous a couple of days leading up to it, because this was a role I really wanted. It's a challenging role and for an actor, an opportunity like that is exciting. I was very nervous during the audition which is why I didn't deliver the monologue the way I wanted. I rehearsed and rehearsed, but when the moment counted, everything that I had rehearsed went out the window. It's so different when you're in the room with the director, and it's so quiet, and you're totally not used to the environment. I mean, I could feel my own heartbeat sitting in that audition room. It was a little nerve-wracking and because of that, it really threw me off while I did my monologue. I messed up on the lines a bit but I recovered nicely.
We chatted a bit before and after, and he seemed to like what I did with the monologue. Apparantly I read it differently from everyone else. I....hope that's a good thing. We talked a bit about the acting choice I made, and why I decided to play a certain emotion....stuff like that. So when I left, he seemed please and said "I'll hear from you again soon." Hopefully that's a good sign. :S Baaaahhhhhh!!!! I'm so glad it's over. I did a shitty job at the audition, but hopefully he saw something he liked.
Anyways, whether I get the role or not....I'm still glad I went. The director told me that he's gonna pass my name on to other directors because I might be good for other roles as well. So I guess auditioning isn't so bad! :D
TKE Pub Night
In other news, I finally went to a fraternity event on Friday. Tau Kappa Epsilon held a kick-ass pub event at The Thirsty Scholar. We did a little pre-drinkin' then headed out and danced the night away. I'll have to say....when we were on the dance floor and then we heard this: "Time goes by.....so slowly....Time goes by....so slowly....." we all went kinda crazy, lol. Madonna rocked the house.
Anyways, check out my Flickr page to see more pics from that night. That's about it!
Lataz y'all.

Wow! Congrats on getting an audition! I'm sure you did better than you thought since we are always naturally our own worst critic. You should be proud that you got the audition and the director provided you with some positive feedback. Good luck and I hope it all goes well! Keep your readers posted! :)

My god I look hideous in those photos. ... and I'm not someone who normally says that.
I wouldn't worry about the audition... so long as you didn't do a monologue about hyphenation. That's just unfunny. to the max.

Lynge: I say you start writing again ('cuz i know you got stuff to say!) but I suggest startin' over completely. Completely new blog. That'll get you started. It helped me when I left Livejournal and joined Blogger. And of course I'll save some tequila for you.
Zara: Hahaha....oh my goodness we've been saying this for YEARS!!! Of course I want to make a movie with you! It's just been difficult figuring what the hell we want to write about. I say we start over. Scrap the original stuff I wrote. And we write it together! I just still haven't found a good story that I REALLY want to write about.

Clearly you guys found the Hyphen thing funny or else you wouldn't have brought it up again. Don't deny it, drunken ramblings and drunken misunderstandings are amusing.
