More Troubles in Suburbia
Remember when I told you guys I had no running hot water? Well that was due to a leak in the water heater. Well, the technicians discovered another problem while trying to fix the leakage. They discovered that our furnace has been pumping out carbon monoxide into the air because the thing that protects that from happening is damaged. Our furnace hasn't been checked in over 20 years!!!
So here's our dilemma:
So here's our dilemma:
- If we turn the furnace back on, we could all potentially die from carbon monoxide poisoning.
- If the water heater leak hadn't happen, the furnace damaged would've never been discovered....so we all could've died from CO poisoning!
- Winter is approaching...and we're going to freeze without a heater.
- A brand new furnace costs around $5000
- No Christmas presents?
- My parents just spent loads of money redecorating (along with a 50-inch flat screen TV)
- My dad was going to pay for my Ottawa U tuition from last semester (around $4800)
- I was getting my wisdom teeth out this December which costs a lot of money even with a dental plan

Wow, I'm surprised your furnace would be that old! Being in Chapel Hill too, I think my place would have been built around the same time, I just recently got mine switched out before something like that could happen! Considering the time of year especially I'd think the best thing to do would be to get a new furnace... you might want to shop around for the furnace though you might get a better price.

You've lived there since High School right? Ah well you mentioned it to me many years ago, I just assumed you hadn't moved because you said your furnace is 20 years old. All the houses in the area are requiring renovations now!

I mentioned it to you years ago? Did I go to school with you? I don't know many Dannys. Except maybe one in high school.

Yes you did go to school with me. Sorry I thought you knew who I was! Yes, its Danny Fitzsimmons. I mentioned in your nightmare post I had found your old LJ while I was searching the database for people I knew from high school or university to see if anyone else had an LJ. Anyway, hey, I now live in Calgary where I'm going to school.
