Mind Over Murder - On Set

This was where I was sitting. The girl in red is Tori Spelling. As you can see, I was a spectator. I guess on the prosecutor side?? Is it kind of like a wedding where there's a side for the bride and a side for the groom? Except it's the prosecution, and the defendant? I know nothing about courtroom protocols. Anyways, the whole time she was singing between takes and playing with one of those cellphones/pda thingies that only rich people have.


This is the same soundstage, except that it's the outside of the courtroom. Pretty ugly with all that equipment huh? Everything in the courtroom is completely fake as you can see. This is what you walk into when you leave the courtroom.

Mmmm.....chocolate mousse. This yummy little dessert was actually for all the union extras, and the crew but the nice caterer decided to give some extra ones to us (non-union extras). Classy huh? Oh, and there's Nick in his "lunch" shirt... don't ask.

Final Thoughts

After 9 hours, I was glad to be done. Thank god, because I thought we were gonna do 12 hours (which is usually the case).

Extra work is fun, because you're on a movie set and you get to see how they put a film together. The preparation that goes into a shot is so incredibly detailed. It's shocking to see how insanely technical it all is, because when you watch it on screen...it just looks so simple and clean and perfect. In reality, there's like 20 crew members standing around, and the equipment and lights around you can be quite overwhelming.

But I've done this half a dozen times now, and it's all old hat to me. Actually, I find it quite dull now and I'm not sure if I want to do it again. I mean, don't get me wrong. I still had fun. I always do when I'm on a movie set. But if you're an actor, standing around acting as the background can get pretty frustrating.

Hopefully from now on, I'll move on to speaking roles sometime in the future. As for now, it's back to school time for me. Summer is over, and it's back to reality! :)
